TOWN councillors have agreed to have undergrowth removed in a bid to deter children making dens under trees by Marlborough Bowls Club.
Three times recently children have set fire to hedges by the bowls club in the Salisbury Road recreation ground. On each occasion the fire brigade had to be called.
The bowls club asked the council to consider removing conifers beneath which children build dens.
Club secretary John May said the trees are a health and safety hazard to the children and harbour an accident waiting to happen.
Councillors agreed to act and clear under the trees.
