On Monday morning, two parking spaces were blocked off in Kennet Place. They have, I believe, disappeared permanently as part of the Angel Yard social housing plan.

On Tuesday afternoon on my return from work, a builder called at the house with a request for me to move my car as he needed to dig a trench where I was parked. I moved my car and two more spaces were cordoned off.

On Wednesday I came home from work to find my car surrounded by 'no parking' cones. I moved it to a legal parking space on the opposite side of the road. On Thursday I came home from work to find my car surrounded by cones again. I found a builder from Angel Yard and resisted the urge to grab him gently by the throat (it

wasn't his fault) to ask him what was going on. He explained, and I eventually managed to park in the one

remaining legal space.

On Friday, I went to work on the bus again, not daring move my car, for fear I may never find a parking space again! All weekend I left my car in the same place and come this Monday morning a builder knocked at my door at 8.55am so I drove my car to work as there are no spaces now. Should you see a little white car driving round in ever decreasing circles please wave.

Very soon, the flats being built in Angel Yard will be inhabited; they have been purposely designed with insufficient parking spaces. Whilst I am retaining my sense of humour at the moment, I feel I may lose it quite soon.

Will any councillors reading this please look at the feasibility of a residents' parking scheme? Not just for me, but for everyone who lives in this town and is forced to play that time-consuming air-polluting stressful daily game of "hunt the parking space".
