GAZETTE & HERALD: GREEN-FINGERED superheroes swarmed into Borough Parade in Chippenham last Thursday to try their hand at two special workshops.
Part of a children's summer school hosted by the shopping centre, the sessions were designed to give kids the chance to socialise and learn in a fun environment and they certainly did.
Both workshops took place at the Neeld Hall and attracted dozens of young recruits.
In the morning, a group of six to 11- year-olds enjoyed a superhero workshop by staff from Ottakar's bookshop.
Assistant manager, Cina Boulton, who ran the class along with children's book-seller Hayley Bamborough, said: "There were about 15 children and they had a really good time.
"We had some great superhero characters invented, including Spinach Guy and Flower Girl and there was lots of glitter it was a real success."
In the afternoon, the session was taken by staff from Littlewoods, who gave the children a fascinating look into the world of plants, from the basics of potting through to displaying plants.
Borough Parade manager, Lionel Dicks, said: "The Summer School is an excellent way for our stores to give something back to the community during the holidays."
