CHIPPENHAM NEWS: A MOTHER-OF-TWO who shaved her head for charity will donate the money raised to an organisation set up in her late husband's memory.
Kathi Goulding, secretary of Rudloe Community Centre, agreed to have her shoulder-length hair shaved off to raise money.
So far she has collected more than £600, which will be split between the NSPCC and Pete's Action for Rudloe Community, a charity set up after her husband Pete suddenly died earlier this year.
Mrs Goulding, 51, who has two sons, John and Stephen, was planning to go through with the head shave on May 14.
But in a tragic turn of events, her husband, who was 53, died suddenly after a short illness and the head shave, due for the day of his funeral, was postponed.
Now Mrs Goulding said she wants to dedicate the money raised in honour of his memory.
She said: "The charity was set up after his death. We thought it was something he would like."
He played an active part in the Rudloe Community Centre.
Mrs Goulding said: "I must be mad, and in fact my late husband was against the idea at first, although he did come round to the idea eventually."
Donations should be sent to Rudloe Community Centre, Leyland Road, Rudloe, Corsham, SN13 0NE.
