Goatacre need a victory at home against Dumbleton this Saturday to guarantee a place in Glos/Wilts Divison 1 for next Season.
The wet August weather may swing the balance of the game to the bowlers and with Goatacre having scored 16 more bowling points than their opponents the conditions could prove crucial.
Goatacre's seam trio of Rhan Heer, Jif Wilkins and Kevin Iles will need to produce one of their best performances of the season to blunt a strong Dumbleton batting attack.
Captain Pete Turner will be reminding his players that a repeat of last week's poor fielding display could see the team relegated back to Division 2.
Robin DuBoulay finishes his two-year stint as captain of the seconds by taking his team on the short trip to Biddestone 2, where he will be looking to sign off in style.
Last week's excellent bowling performance was spearheaded surprisingly by 60-year-old stalwart Graham Iles. DuBoulay will again be calling on the nagging line and length of Iles as an example to the younger pace attack of Ben Miller and Matt Cave.
Pat Murphy's thirds are also hoping that a victory at Spye Park against Bradford Town 2 will earn them a late reprieve against relegation from Division 6 of the Wiltshire League.
Seventeen-year-old Sean Preen returns to partner Graham Wakefield in the bowling department whilst Eddie Jenkinson steps down from the seconds to help boost the batting.
