CHIPPENHAM NEWS: ASPIRING film-makers have put together films with their favourite toys in starring roles.
Jackie Calderwood, a freelance media artist running the two day workshop at Corsham Arts Centre, said the youngsters, between nine and 14 years old, did video and animation work, and also learned how to edit.
She said: "All the children were asked to bring two to three objects they like, such as toys, and they were used in the animation."
Using sound effects, music and special effects the 15 children put together five short films.
Stop frame animation was used, where the children moved their toys a short distance in each frame to make it look like it was moving when the film was played back.
They created animations of Spider-Man, Little Red Riding Hood and toy action crashes.
They also learned to put action to music on video, and had starring roles themselves as they danced or introduced their film to camera.
The children decided on the content of their films and directed the action. After the two-day workshop, which finished on Tuesday, they had the finished product to take home to play to their friends and families.
