JEWELLERY for people who fidget is the idea behind a Trowbridge designer's new collection, which goes on sale next month.
Susannah Way, 23, of Southfield, Southwick, has based her work around moving parts, to allow the owner to be able to fiddle and fidget with the jewellery.
She said: "It's quite contemporary in style and it's all based around movement. When you are feeling nervous you can just sort of sit there and play with it.
"I was always interested in what it looked like on the body and what effect it had on you. This is interaction with the jewellery. I wanted to do something that was about that and being a very fiddly and nervous person I fitted in with that."
Miss Way, who went to John of Gaunt School and did an art and design diploma at Trowbridge College, also experimented with contrasting materials, matching pearls, silver, and gold with plastic, elastic and rubber.
"You are getting a really inexpensive material that you use every day and then silver, which is more what you expect for jewellery," she said.
The packaging includes a comic strip to show how to wear the jewellery, which Miss Way also designed herself.
"With some of them it is not immediately obvious what they are so this sort of explains it," she said.
Miss Way's jewellery, which costs between £20 and £200, will be on sale in September from Jane Moore Contemporary Jewellery, Leamington Spa.
