28606YOUNGSTERS in Warminster got the chance to become published authors on Wednesday when they were introduced to a website featuring children's writing.
Ten children, aged seven to 10, were invited to Warminster Library to discover the Stories from the Web website which publishes writing from budding young authors.
They also talked about their favourite reads of the summer as part of the Reading Roller-coaster scheme that promotes books to children.
The session was organised and led by Richard Violet, who is the Community Librarian for Warminster.
Mr Violet said: "The event is two-pronged. Children can talk about their reading and it's also very exciting for them to see their work on the web.
"If they write a review or a poem they can send it to the Stories from the Web to be published.
"They can print out their work and it's nice for them to have something to keep."
The Reading Roller-coaster Summer Reading challenge recommended six books for children to read over the summer holiday.
They receive a sticker for each book they read and a certificate for reading all six.
