MUSICIANS in west Wiltshire are being invited to take part in a new series of creative workshops in Bradford on Avon.

The Wiltshire Music Centre is hosting Music Lab, giving people from all musical backgrounds the chance to play with other people and create new pieces of music.

Alexandra Tomkinson, the centre's audience development director, said: "Everyone is welcome, whatever they play, whatever music they are into and whether or not they are an active player or slightly lapsed.

"The only thing that matters is enthusiasm and an interest in trying something new."

The workshops will be mainly improvisation-based and suitable for any level of experience. People taking part don't need to be able to read music and don't have to play alone unless they want to.

It is hoped this pilot of the scheme will lead to establishing a regular, ongoing programme.

The workshops will run between 10am and 4pm on September 19 and October 3.
