BOSSES at a Trowbridge shopping centre have criticised the 'lenient' sentencing of a security guard whose drunken rampage caused £24,000 damage.
Matthew Holly, 27, was given a six-month curfew order for leaving a trail of destruction in The Shires while he was the only guard on duty.
Holly has also been electronically tagged after kicking in windows and smashing shelves at Ottakar's bookstore and the Holland and Barrett health food shop on April 25.
A spokesman for Workmans, The Shires' managing agents, said: "The sentence does seem lenient considering the amount of damage. We anticipated a jail sentence, but given the man's outburst appeared out of character, it is perhaps more appropriate than prison."
