RESIDENTS on a third estate in Trowbridge will soon have access to internet and computer facilities thanks to a £110,000 government grant.
Following in the footsteps of e-Trowbridge projects on Longfield and Studley Green estates, residents in Seymour can look forward to a facility being opened before Christmas.
Money has already been spent on a mobile office building, which is earmarked for a piece of vacant land next to Trowbridge Cricket Club, in Canal Road.
The e-centre will be run by volunteers and open to organisations, businesses and residents on the estate.
Trowbridge Town Council officer Maryrose Mantle said: "It won't be open everyday, but the opening hours will depend on how many people come forward to help out.
"We are ordering up to four PCs and each will have broadband access.
"People can come along and e-mail relatives, print off posters or ask advice."
The town council will be applying for planning permission for the centre within the next month.
