I refer to the letter from Coun Steve Wakefield 'Get the Message' it's no wonder the people of Swindon get so enraged with their councillors when this one in particular has no idea what he is on about and has a lack of feeling towards the people of Swindon.

First of all he wants to do his calculations right. To say that a decent football player in the top flight would earn £750,000 a month is ignorance. Most top players in the Premiership earn £320,000 £450,000 a month max, around £80,000 a week.

And then to say that a fool and his money are soon parted. The only fools in this sorry affair are the ones who advised the football club to go for the Shaw tip site in the first place the councillors. The same councillors who gave planning permission to build houses near the forest years ago, when there was nobody to cry wolf about the deer and wild animals that walked the land and those houses were built.

It's called progress, but while we have the councillors we have today it will cease and stagnate.

I would just like to ask Coun Wakefield, who is the fool? The fool or the fool who follows the fool?

I guess come election time we shall all find out. I know who I won't be voting for.
