I RECENTLY travelled home on the No 8 bus from Fleming Way and finished my journey at Toothill.
Walking home I realised that I had left a carrier bag containing a pair of black trousers on the bus, (bought especially for a short holiday).
I returned to the bus stop, to await the same bus on its return journey, in the hope that the carrier bag would still be there. Alas, the bag had been taken/stolen. According to the driver he remembered a young women with a small child get off at Freshbrook shops, she picked up the bag looked inside and walked off the bus with my new trousers.
I am totally disgusted. Is there no shame? Words fail me. I hope this young women's needs were greater than mine for a new pair of trousers, the size fits and that she enjoys wearing them without any guilt over the next few weeks. Perhaps she may read this and feel some remorse.
This upsetting incident has confirmed that there are people who stoop low to steal other people's property, and others that are honest and trustworthy. I was unfortunate to come across a woman who had no worries about stealing for gain.
