WELL BM Packer, it's nice to see that the Puritanical ideals of Oliver Cromwell are still alive and well right here in Swindon!
The problem with every generation as they get older is to view their own childhood through rose-coloured spectacles and state quite narrow-mindedly that this current generation is smutty, disrespectful and crass.
But to answer some of your direct quotes: "I would not give a TV house room but this evil is being fed to children every day." Question: If you do not have a television then how do you know that it's full of evil?
"Libraries stock disgusting literature" is an arguable point. I read a book a week yet never encounter the smut you so vaguely describe. Perhaps you should stick to something you know to be safe ie Enid Blyton.
"When children are nurtured on vileness is it any wonder standards are non existent." Just because some people disagree with your harsh morality doesn't mean they don't have standards.
Would it surprise you that every generation has its "rebellious" music genre? Jazz, now considered the realm of those aged 50 plus, was labelled a moral outrage during its heyday.
Perhaps you would prefer a return to the 1940s and 1950s where it didn't matter what went on behind closed doors so long as people said and did the right things in public.
Pompous cane-happy teachers patrolled our schools ready to hit any child who sniffed at them the wrong way and priests were unquestionably considered pillars of society.
Oh what a wonderful world that was!
