NATIONWIDE Building Society has been named an Investors in People champion.
The accolade means the Pipers Way firm has been held up as a good example of sharing, learning and spreading good business practice.
Only 16 firms have been named IiP champions in the country, and Nationwide, which has been given the IiP accreditation four times, is the only financial services company to be held up for such praise.
Nationwide's chief executive Philip Williamson said: "People make the difference at Nationwide. Investing in them is second nature to us and has really paid dividends for both our members and our business too.
"Nationwide has gone from strength to strength.
"With assets doubling in the last five years and a reputation that continues to grow for helpful, friendly and individual service.
"We are very proud of the work we have done and committed to innovate to make things even better."
Investors in People chairman Tim Melville-Ross visited Swindon last week to present the champions plaque to Mr Williamson.
