Julia Drown, MP for South Swindon, is urging solicitors and the public to join the Will Aid campaign.
It encourages people to make a will and at the same time to raise vital funds for the Will Aid charities and so help to change the lives of children, elderly people and their families.
Will Aid works in partnership with solicitors who volunteer their time and skills free of charge to draw up basic wills during November. In return, the solicitors request a donation to Will Aid.
The suggested donation level is £65 for a single will, £95 for a pair of wills or £35 for a codicil to an existing will.
Will Aid is a campaign run by nine charities: ActionAid, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, Help the Aged, NSPCC, Save the Children UK, Sight Savers International, SCIAF (Scotland) and Trocaire (N. Ireland).
Julia says: "I would like to encourage more local firms to contact Will Aid on 01460 271178 and get involved. And I would encourage all constituents to think seriously about writing or up-dating their Will with Will Aid. They should call 0870 6060 239 to find a participating local solicitor."
