CHILDREN from the Parks and Walcot areas of Swindon took part in a Creative Arts Week, at the University of Bath's campus at Oakfield in Swindon.
Three undergraduates from Bath University and one from Cardiff Univer-sity advised the children about managing workloads and balancing study, work and social life.
Pauline Pratt, the Creative Arts Week director, said: "It is the first time we have done this and it was a great chance for young people to enjoy creativity while gaining firsthand knowledge of university life.
"It was an excellent learning experience for everyone involved and hopefully the week will have raised the children's aspirations and give them the confidence to continue their educational career."
The scheme was funded by a Government grant and students were able to attend the course free of charge.
The children produced a wide range of artwork, including digital art, sculptures and paintings.
"It is hard to say who enjoyed it more; the staff involved or the students," said Pauline.
"The children were enthusiastic and keen to learn and they produced some excellent work."
