DRIVERS at Swindon Bus Station raised £200 for charity by not wearing their uniforms.
The drivers got together with their colleagues in Stroud for a dressing down day.
Stagecoach owner Brian Souter, Scotland's richest man, doubled the total to £400.
Des Tierney, 48, from Lyne-ham, organised the event, raising money for Epilepsy Research Foundation.
He said: "My wife Linda and son Dennis both have epilepsy, and a lot of people don't understand it.
"The drivers have been absolutely brilliant and very supportive
"I got all the drivers to give £2 each to wear civilian clothes or fancy dress. There were about 50 drivers in Swindon and the same number in Stroud."
But there was also a more serious side to the non-uniform day.
Des said: "When people see somebody having a fit they think it's monstrous and stand and stare. There are 420,000 epilepsy sufferers in Britain so people should be aware of what to do, but most people are not."
