A MORTGAGE complaints company is warning endowment policyholders that the outlook is getting worse.
Andy Humphries, managing director of Renaissance Endowment Review Services in Marlborough, says the fact that Standard Life has suspended a promise to meet endowment shortfalls, introduced a deadline for mis-selling claims and warned of future bonus cuts, is unfortunately the shape of things to come.
"This is another blow for endowment policyholders who are already facing shortfalls," he said.
"The Financial Services Authority says there are up to six million people in the UK with endowments who are affected. We estimate that could mean about 15,000 people in the Swindon area."
