Ref. 72682-30A SHOW jumping enthusiast who plunged 30ft off a balcony is expected to take months to fully recover but is already looking forward to riding again.
Sarah Webster, 19, who broke both her legs, both wrists, fractured her skull and broke her left cheekbone, is now at the Great Western Hospital in Swindon after being stranded in Turkey for two weeks.
Doctors operated on her wrists on Sunday and 50 stitches in her legs have now been removed.
Her brother Richard Nash, 39, who helped arrange the air ambulance flight from Staverton near Cheltenham to the Swindon hospital on Friday, said the Cricklade teenager's rehabilitation would start today.
"It will take weeks before there is any sign of increase in mobility but it will take months and months to fully recover," he said.
"We want to get her back to herself as quickly as possible."
Last week, following pressure from MP Michael Wills and reports in the Adver, Post Office bosses finally backed down and agreed to cover the youngster's £20,000 medical bill after initially refusing to pay.
Sarah, who fell while staying in the Turkish resort of Marmaris, had been told her holiday insurance- taken out with the Post Office- was not valid because she had been drinking.
But no medical tests to determine the alcohol levels were carried out.
Her relieved parents, Pat, pictured, and Scott, who kept a bedside vigil, said their daughter was looking forward to living a normal life.
"She (Sarah) is glad to be back and is looking forward to people coming to see her."
