Wootton Bassett Under 16s struggled to chalk up their third win of the season despite scoring five tries at home to Witney.
The home side won 27-14 and started well, winger Chris Munton scoring an excellent try,
Utility forward Ben Stew added another and Bassett led 15-0 at half-time.
Witney hit back with two converted tries in the second half though, as Bassett paid the price for some weak tackling.
However Bassett stretched clear with further tries from Chris Moakes and Stew.
n Wootton Bassett under 15s kicked off their Wiltshire Cup campaign last Sunday with a 54-0 victory over local rivals Swindon.
It took them until the 14th minute to get off the mark, Ed Audritt crossing and Elliott Read converting.
But in the second half, with the wind behind them, Bassett stepped up a gear, scoring 47 points in under 20 minutes.
Liam Rowe continued his scoring streak with two, full-back Jonathan May, wing Chris Beard and scrum-half Nicky Barnes all scoring.
For the forwards William Hooper scored his second try of the season and the game was stopped after a well worked try featuring Hooper, Sam Pailor and finisher Audritt.
Read contributed 14 points converting seven of the tries.
Bassett under 15s train on Wednesday evenings between 7-9pm at Stoneover Lane.
