PEDESTRIANS are taking a big risk when crossing the road near a speed camera.
That is the warning from Safe Speed, an organisation which campaigns against speed cameras.
A spokesman for the group said that drivers are distracted by the roadside devices.
Paul Smith said: "We are also very concerned about drivers' mental priorities where there are speed cameras. What are drivers thinking about as they pass a speed camera? They're thinking about the camera, aren't they? We'd much rather they were thinking about the road ahead."
