RESIDENTS in north Swindon are winning the war against trolley dumpers.
Asda Walmart has fitted trolleys with an electronic braking system and Morrisons in Thames Avenue is asking for a £1 deposit to help stop them from being snatched.
The reported success comes after reports of spiralling problems with trolley dumping in the town centre.
But supermarkets have vowed to help stop the problem.
Anyone who sees an abandoned trolley can phone the store which owns it or contact Swindon Services on 01793 463000.
