CASTLEDOWN School, in Ludgershall, has welcomed a new headteacher.
John Pender comes to Castledown from Avon Middle, in Salisbury, with plans to pull the school out of special measures by next July.
"My focus is on teaching and learning," he said.
"GCSE and Key Stage 3 results at the school this summer showed a great improvement, which is a really good basis for moving forward."
He added: "There is nothing earth-shattering about what we are doing - it is all about quality.
"A good teaching team, producing good-quality lessons, will make Castledown into a school the children can be proud of.
"The governors have been hugely supportive and we have a common view for the school.
"There is a great future for Castledown School."
Mr Pender replaced Rowena Brookes.
