OFSTED inspectors have praised staff at a Tisbury pre-school, highlighting the very good quality of nursery education provided.
Wardour Pre-School, which is based in the grounds of Wardour Primary, provides sessional day care for children aged between three and five.
Inspectors concluded that children were making very good progress towards all six areas of the early learning goals and noted the very good quality of teaching.
Staff demonstrated good knowledge and understanding of early learning goals, with children having maximum learning opportunities. The children themselves are seen as independent and self-motivated and show kindness and sympathy towards one another, also exploring, expressing and investigating their creative freedom.
Staff encourage children with special needs to participate in all activities and children benefit from effective teaching as their progress is monitored.
The six main categories - personal, social and emotional development, communication, language and literacy, mathematical development, knowledge and understanding of the world, physical development and creative development - were all deemed "very good".
Pre-school leader Stephanie Wolf said: "We are thrilled with the Ofsted report.
"This is a very special school and we are delighted that it has been recognised as such."
The atmosphere of the pre-school, the use of resources and the individual attention that each child receives from staff were also highlighted.
Inspectors said there were no significant weaknesses but that consideration should be given to improving parents' knowledge regarding early learning goals.
