28655/2CHILDREN at a Melksham primary school are going interactive this term with state-of-the-art teaching boards.
Lowbourne Junior School has installed the interactive boards in each of its 10 classrooms.
Deputy head Mark Bartlett said: "We wanted to provide another dimension for learning. The boards are very visual and the children can touch them and interact with them.
"We have asked each of the children in turn and, from their perspective, everything is bigger and better."
The 260 youngsters at the school can use the boards for a wide range of activities and they have already been put to good use.
The pupils can write on the boards and see their handwriting turned into print and draw pictures on it, which can be transformed into a hard copy.
On Tuesday one class went out and took photos, which they transferred onto screen back in the classroom.
Mr Bartlett said: "It makes it that much more dramatic for the children, it is engaging them and gives them that extra learning ability."
