LOUISA Lockwood and her mount Lucia Di Lammermoor enjoyed a successful weekend, taking second place at Weston Park International One-Star event.
The pair led after the first day's dressage, despite having to perform in driving rain that blew Louisa's top hat away.
But they went on to surrender the hard-won lead, dropping 2.4 penalties off the lead after the second day.
The weather conditions again conspired against Louisa for the steeplechase.
Drawn fifth, they set out in dense fog, but Lucia di Lammermoor, showed her class with a brave and sure-footed display, lifting the pairing back into second place ahead of the final day's show-jumping.
In a nail-biting finish, Louisa jumped a perfect clear round but was denied victory at the last minute, when the horse which had led all the way repeated the feat to pip her at the post.
Lucia di Lammermoor, is in only her second year of eventing and, at the age of six, is looking like a real prospect for her Winter-bourne Stoke rider - boasting both the talent and temperament to succeed.
Louisa also rode Tiger Shark in the two-star competition at Weston Park, notching up another clear showjumping round to earn a placing.
