THE Mayor of Salisbury's charity golf day has been pronounced a success after it raised £2,000 for the Trussell Trust.
Hosted by Hamptworth Golf and Country Club, the event attracted an entry into double figures.
Winners with 79 points were Richard Long, Simon Langford and Ryan Ellis who made up the 4Com telecommunications team.
The Castlegate Windows team were runners up.
4Com player Ellis was also the individual winner with 38 points.
Mayor Jeremy Nettle was on hand all day to support the players and pick up a few tips from Hamptworth's resident teaching professionals Katie Dawkins and Laurie Blake.
He said: "I am extremely happy with the outcome of today."
He paid tribute to organisers Caroline and Robert Smith and added: "I must thank the staff at Hamptworth for their involvement in helping to create this wonderful event."
The day concluded with a raffle of sporting memorabilia.
