Wiltshire Senior Cup
(1st Round)
Bemerton HH 6 - Warminster Town 0
Heath team: Crowfoot, Renyard (Burden), White, Nash, Boswell (Caswell), Mankin, Daubney, Cole (Harsant), Findlay, Chalk, Bak
BEMERTON Heath Harlequins put the recent home defeats to Winchester City and BAT behind them as they thoroughly enjoyed this cup win against Warminster Town of the Wilts Senior League.
Harlequins set out to put Warminster under constant pressure from the first whistle.
Visiting goalkeeper Mark Pearson was kept busy and stopped early shots from Stuart Findlay and Neil Cole. But he could not keep out everything and after a good build up, Findlay opened the scoring on 13 minutes.
Pearson then denied Graham Mankin before Findlay made it 2-0 on 27 minutes with a superb header from man of the match Cole's cross.
They reversed roles five minutes later with Findlay setting up Cole to drill home the third.
Warminster's attack was kept very quiet by the efficient 'Quins defence with Jamie Boswell and Steve Waite doing the simple things.
The home side could and should have scored more with Mankin heading wide and the keeper making excellent saves from Cole and Nathan Renyard.
Renyard received a slight pull and was replaced at half time by Gary Burden who made his first appearance since suffering a broken leg last season.
Heath went four up on the hour with Boswell latching onto a poor punch-out from the 'keeper and toe-poking the ball home with his left foot.
Substitute Jason Harsant completed the scoring with two goals in the final ten minutes.
