ALAN Blencowe claimed a third place finish at Silver-stone at the weekend in the EERC Britcar three-hour endurance race.
After qualifying in third place, the Tisbury driver surged to the lead after just 30 minutes of the contest, but time gaps were closed down after the safety car was called on to the track following an oil leak from one of the Porsche drivers.
However, mandatory driver changes, fuel stop and new tyres meant Blencowe and team mate James Kaye rejoined the grid in second place.
By the time the chequered flag came out, they had dropped another place.
Blencowe and the team now head to Croft.
He said: "It was another great performance from Barwell Motorsport making sure the car ran well and was on the pace.
"It was a shame we didn't get thewin as we thought we were going to at one stage.
"Hopefully, we can amend that at Croft, but it's still always nice to be on the podium."
