As a frequent letter-writer, people ask me if I write to politicians. They are surprised when I reply very rarely.
Most of my letters go to papers and other media outlets. A BBC TV producer making a film about me, was previously a researcher for an MP.The MP had drafted seven stock letters, one of which was suitable to reply to any voter.
