CHIPPENHAM'S players had the eye of the tiger on Saturday after listening to songs from the Rocky movie soundtrack before the game.
The boxing film's score has taken the place of Rolf Harris as the players' choice of inspirational music in the changing room.
It is kit man Clive Garraway's responsibility to take a stereo to the away games to make sure the atmosphere is right in the changing room.
"It is is a job he takes seriously. He said: "We have played music before the game for as long as I have been at the club. It is an important tradition, I always have to make sure that I have the club stereo in my box before we travel."
The players chose which song to play off the album but most games they decide to play Eye Of The Tiger to inspire them.
Garraway, 47, said: "This season's CD is Rocky and it seems to be doing the trick."
Before Saturday's victory over Solihull the players chose to play Philadelphia Morning, the music played in Rocky II when he goes for his long run while training to fight Apollo Creed.
Garraway thinks it is a vast improvement on last season, when the team were playing songs from the Rolf Harris Greatest Hits album, which includes songs such as My Boomerang Don't Come Back and Tie Your Kangaroo Down. Garraway takes a selection of CDs but the players have kept with Rocky this season.
He said: "The players liked Rolf last year but have not chosen it this season.
"Sometimes we have different CDs, the players might grab one from their car, once we played a R n' B song and Martin Paul has brought in a Jazz CD."
On occasions it is difficult to set up the stereo at away games. Garraway said: "Some changing rooms do not have plug sockets and we have gone without the music for some games.
"Now I bring an extension lead with me so that it does not happen again. So far this season I have managed to get the CD played before every game."
The kit man thinks that the music helps get the players focused. He said: "The music relaxes the players, certain tunes do fire up them up.
"Songs like Eye of the Tiger seems to have that effect."
Last season Chippenham lost a few games after listening to a compilation tape made up by midfielder Scott Walker.
He said: "I brought in a tape of R n' B that everyone liked. I made it at home and called it Scotty's Mix. Then we lost a few games and someone binned it.
"Sam Allison tried to bring in some drum and bass once. It stayed in the machine for 30 seconds before someone ripped it out and threw it in the bin.
"We are sticking with Rocky this year, everyone likes it and it gets us wound up.
"We have heard other teams playing music. We just turn ours up so it is louder than theirs."
