SINGERS from the Morriston Male Voice Choir were in fine voice at Malmesbury Abbey last Saturday.
The performance was part of an evening of song to raise money for a new sports clubhouse and facilities at Wortheys Sports Association.
The concert also featured local opera singer Anita Reynell who has travelled with the Pavilion Opera in Europe and Japan.
Organiser Louise Stroyd said the audience really appreciated the performance.
She said: "The concert was fantastic. The choir gave a truly splendid performance that no doubt will remain in the minds of the audience for a long time to come.
"Anita sang a range of music probably to a standard not heard in the Abbey for many years. It is wonderful to know we have such talent locally."
Morriston Male Voice Choir has previously performed at prestigious locations such as The Royal Albert Hall and the Millennium Stadium.
Wortheys Sports Association was formed a year ago to provide a range of better facilities for the youth and community in Malmesbury.
Rugby, netball, cricket and skateboarding clubs are presently involved and it is hoped others will join as the project progresses.
Fundraising events so far have included a book bonanza and Daisy Dollop competition.
Both received tremendous community support and raised funds for the initial project costs.
