GAZETTE & HERALD: The 30th Calne Music and Arts Festival finished on Sunday with a spectacular 15-minute fireworks display to patrons and guests.
The festival proved successful with packed audiences throughout the ten days.
Chairman Tim Brown was pleased with the acts. He said: "Overall the festival was very successful.
"Certainly everything was an excellent level of performance, there were good audiences all the time who were enthusiastic.
"It's a great satisfaction to see everything going so well.
"I think we have to say the Wednesday performance of the Emerald Ensemble and NUBIS choir performing the piece of music by our guest composer Alastair King was superb. It received a standing ovation. It really was a highlight."
Mr Brown said that this year's event was a fitting tribute to the 30th anniversary.
"Tickets for the Jelly Roll Boys and The Rattlers were sold out before the concert and it was a really good evening with encores for the two bands.
"I think it was a fitting tribute to 30 years of celebrating music in Calne. It's by the local people for the people of Calne and it also provides a platform for local talent," he said.
"On Friday evening we had Christina Jackson singing to a good audience in Marden House and at the same time we had Teega Suku who had only got together this year performing to a packed audience at the White Hart.
"These are local people producing very good bands and I think this is what the festival does it provides a platform for local people."
Mr Brown thanked all those who have helped this year.
