A 16-YEAR-OLD student at Dauntsey's School in West Lavington has the opportunity to be one of the air cadets going to Vietnam.
Trystram Negus, from Great Cheverell, near Devizes, is hoping to go to the communist state this month to take part in an expedition organised by the Air Training Corps.
Trystram, who is currently studying for his AS levels, is set on being an RAF pilot and has been a member of the Devizes squadron of the Air Training Corps for just over a year.
He said: "At the beginning of the summer holidays, I was invited by another squadron of the ATC to join one of their expeditions in October.
"The expedition is two and a half weeks' long and will take place in the north of Vietnam.
"It will, in fact, be the first cadet expedition into the country ever arranged. We are planning to spend six of the days trekking to and climbing Mount Fansipan, the tallest mountain in Indo-China, nearly 3,150 metres high."
