APPLICATION is being made in court today for the first anti-social behaviour orders relating to alleged louts from Marlborough.
The court will be asked to issue ASBOs on two teenagers, believed to be 16 and 14, both from the Portfields area.
The ground breaking application by Sarsen Housing Association to Kennet Magistrates follows months of investigation by police, and the logging by families on the Portfields estate of loutish behaviour by young people.
In August the Gazette reported the concern of families, particularly pensioners, living on the estate.
Some pensioners living in group accommodation said their lives had been made hell by groups of young people, that on occasions had numbered 20 or more.
Residents complained the young people were using foul language, being abusive and playing ball games in the street into the early hours of the morning.
Families in Laineys Close and Baylie Acre have also complained about the activities of the group.
Sarsen said it is seeking the orders on two young people "after intensive work by a number of agencies to improve their behaviour has been unsuccessful".
