A determined Hungerford were no match for a disjointed Calne, even after the visitors lost tighthead prop Matt Arnold to a calf injury in the warm-up.
Number eight Alan Wicks moved to loosehead and Mick Dyer crossed to the tight, but they were further hit when blindside flanker Rich Kearney had to leave the field with a rib injury, 40-year-old veteran Rod Woolford taking his place.
Hungerford dominated the early proceedings as Calne familiarised themselves with the new positioning, and they slowly gained more possession.
With their first real incursion into the Hungerford 22, they were awarded a penalty try, hooker Mike Palfrey slotting the conversion in the absence of skipper Andy Donegan.
Palfrey himself, Pete McGarry and Neil Watkins also crossed the whitewash in the first half, but with no extras added.
In the blustery conditions the pack played a tight and direct game and constantly powered their way up the middle of the pitch, with the backs, particularly Neil Young and Guthrie Holiday, growing in confidence.
Direct forward play and mazy threequarter play from the visitors created second-half tries for Young, Damon Murphy and Holiday, all of which were this time converted by Palfrey, who seemed to find his kicking boots at the break.
Young wing Vince Treen also impressed, while 14-man Hungerford eventually got their reward with a late consolation score to put some respectability into the result.
