I MOVED to Chippenham in 1978 with my family. My three sons and families still live there. But I moved to Devizes in 1986.
Nearly every week we come to visit and I am appalled at how Chippenham people put up with the state of the town. The toilets at the bus station are a disgrace.
Also all those food outlets opposite Emery Gate should be allowed enclosed terraces and made responsible for all the greasy garbage left all over the pavement.
I am surprised no more slippery accidents occur, if one manages to walk on the pavement with all those chairs and tables.
Chippenham seems a very mean town. Just look at the Christmas decorations. The tree is a joke with a few bulbs and paper. If so little is affordable why not put all in one place and try to make a good job of it.
It makes me sad and angry to see such waste. Nobody seems to make a stand for anything decent.
