GYMNASTS in west Wiltshire have gone head over heels to raise money for charity.
The West Wilts Esprit Gymnastics Club raised £1,257 by hosting a sponsored somersault and on Thursday they donated £400 to Bath Cats and Dogs home at Claverton.
The remaining money will go on equipment for the club.
Sue Clark, a coach at the Esprit club, said: "Everyone really enjoyed the event and it was a great success.
"The money is going to a good cause and it will help the club out as well.
"I raised money for the cats and dogs home last year by walking round and asking for donations. This year I wanted to do something more fun."
The gymnasts split into teams of 10 and somersaulted one after another for an hour.
Some money will buy video equipment to allow gymnasts study their performances.
Mrs Clark said: "Our gymnasts don't really get a chance to see themselves perform so this will allow them to watch and improve."
