AFTER reading all that has been said about the change to refuse collection I am deeply saddened.
It seems as if we (the public) are being bullied into doing as the council (public servants) wish. The gist I get, forgive me if I am wrong, is that we are to only have a normal refuse collection once a fortnight in order to make us create less refuse? This can only fail because there are always those who will refuse to change their habits.
Surely if the recycling company were to collect a wider variety of recyclables (plastic, cardboard etc) there would be more incentive to recycle? I am loathe to throw cardboard boxes and plastic bottles in the bin, but due to limited space and lack of time I have no choice. We pay dearly for this service via our council tax, why can't it be just that, a service?

Where will all the old wheelie bins go when they reach the end of their natural life (Letters, October 8)? Probably to Lafarge.
