William 'Biker Bill' HillFRIENDS and family have paid tribute to one of Trowbridge's best-known characters, who died from a heart attack on Wednesday, aged 56.
Biker Bill, whose real name was William Hill, has been described as "a father figure, a friend and a legend".
Born in Chesterfield, he moved to Trowbridge 20 years ago where he became a prominent member of the biking community.
Friend Ian Attenburrow said: "He wasn't happy unless everyone else was happy. Bill always wanted to write his autobiography and never got round to it, but as far as I'm concerned he did it on his websites."
