VOLUNTEERS at a toy library have just finished counting cash raised during an event held in support of cancer patients.
The Phoenix Toy Library collected £36 by taking part in the World's Biggest Coffee Morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Relief.
And now the group, which meets every Friday between 10am and noon at the Drove Road Social Hall, Southampton Street, is planning an event for Children in Need.
Cash raised locally was given to the Swindon Cancer Appeal, which has already raised more than £400,000.
Volunteer Monica Dawes, 35, said they had not yet decided what they would do but was delighted with the success of the latest fundraising effort.
"The day went really well and I'm pleased with the support we got," she said. "About 50 people turned up."
Business, community groups and individuals across the area took part in last month's Macmillan event.
