I was extremely disturbed to learn through the Internet edition of the Evening Advertiser that gravestones at Wroughton Church had been flattened and that no one had advised me of this.
My wife is buried in the graveyard and it was not until I was able to contact my daughter in Swindon that my mind was put to rest by learning that my wives tombstone was still standing.
Surely as the tombstones are paid for by bereaved relatives they should be notified and given a certain period to allow the stones to be secured.
I find this matter very distasteful.
