AN Olympic running vest signed by British athletes such as the disgraced sprinter Dwain Chambers will be auctioned off for charity.
The organisers also have a signed picture of Melinda Messenger to go under the hammer.
Other lots, including a bottle of House of Commons wine and Sheriff's ale, will be sold off at the Queen's Park Social Hall, Euclid Street, next Saturday.
People can view the items up for grabs at 1pm and the auction will start an hour later.
Auctioneer on the day will be Coun Stan Pajak.
He said: "The 50:50 auction will provide opportunities for people to bid for the vest which had been donated by the British Olympic Committee.
"Other contributions include vouchers for Swindon Borough Council sport centres, a bike, kitchen gadgets and a book of chocolate recipes."
Anyone interested in donating an item or wanting to put in an early bid for any of the lots can phone Coun Pajak on 01793 642936 or alternatively email him at d.pajak@ntlworld.com
Funds will be used to pay for Christmas community events in the area.
