I was extremely disturbed to learn through the Internet edition of the Evening Advertiser that gravestones at Wroughton Church had been flattened and that no one had advised me of this.
My wife is buried in the graveyard and it was not until I was able to contact my daughter in Swindon that my mind was put at rest by learning that my wife's tombstone was still standing.
Surely, as the tombstones are paid for by 0relatives of the deceased, notification should be made and a certain period to enable the stones to be made secure should be allowed?
I find this matter very distasteful.
