FROM recent press releases, it would seem that our MPs and many others think the recent contracts for vehicles for the Armed Forces is a good thing.
Now that it has been confirmed, I wouldn't be surprised if the lorry side of the LDV builders folds, meaning the loss of many jobs in the Midlands.
The Government also announced recently that the contract for the supply of the new Land Rover's role of vehicles is going overseas as well, to Mercedes, meaning a large slice of work for Land Rover, will be gone.
Our two new aircraft carriers are to be built (over budget), in France, the army DPM uniforms are now made in China.
I wonder if this country still has any manufacturing links left thanks to Labour.
When will the likes of Mr D'Avila complain about these losses or, because they don't concern jobs in this town, are they not his problem?
