I HAPPENED to be on business in Swindon on October 14 when I saw the story which was headlined "Driver drove whilst disqualified."

It clearly shows the appalling state of justice and lack of rule of law in England.

I am indignant that the miscreant was not locked up for a long time indeed, because of his self-confessed repeat offending and the gravity of his crime.

The police are certainly wasting their time if the magistrates do not punish crimes as blatant as this in the severest way possible.

It is a lunacy of the highest order that a man with a disability such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder can even obtain a driving licence.

Driving is an activity that requires constant attention to detail.

The application of common sense to the rules governing drivers is clearly absent in this case.

This man might just as well be loose on the streets with a gun or a knife, so much does he represent danger to the public when he has a disability that prevents him driving safely.

A driving licence is a responsibility and not a right.

In my opinion the lawyer trying to defend the criminal actions, himself deserves to be locked up.

This case shows why the the people of this country of any race or creed have lost faith in the operation of justice.

The magistrates need to resign from their roles of looking after the law if they do not perform their role of public protection.

The application of law in this country is wholly absent.
