A SALISBURY Civic Society plaque to Charles William Fry, commemorating 125 years of band music in Salisbury, was unveiled at a ceremony at the Salvation Army hall in Salt Lane on Monday.
The plaque marks Fry's contribution as the founder of the Salvationists' first band, which was officially recognised by founder William Booth in 1879.
Brigadier Alistair Clark, of Salisbury Civic Society, said the blue plaque was "in recognition of Fry's work as the father of Salvation Army music".
