WOOTTON Bassett could get its own heritage trail.
And town councillor Cliff Dixon who came up with the idea is appealing for help researching an area of the town's past. He wants to tidy up the site of the old brick kilns on scrubland near the Church Street allotments. He said: "The bricks were used to build canals, and the kilns are an important part of our heritage.
"The thing is most local people don't know about them. They are not in a very good state, and only a few arches remain. But it would be nice to preserve what is left and include them on a heritage trail."
He wants to create a history walk around the town, and print leaflets pointing out historic buildings.
If anyone knows anything about the kilns, call Cliff on 01793 850986.
