Ref. 72996-26 Joanna Simpson, the owner of West One hairdressers, who is organising a breast cancer benefit THE owner of a Swindon hairdressing business has been busy working on a benefit show for the last 12 months.
Joanna Simpson, of West One salons, does not want to spill the beans about the hair and fashion Show, which she promises will be full of surprises.
But she is hoping the annual event will raise more than £1,000 for the Breast Cancer Campaign.
Joanna, 36, said: "We do a hair show every year and this is the second time that we have chosen to donate what we make to that cause. My mother-in-law, Val Simpson, had breast cancer about six years ago. She's fine now, so she is one of the lucky ones."
The show, entitled Burlesque To Baroque, takes place on November 11 from 7.30pm and 10pm at Cricklade Hotel And Country Club and tickets will be available next month.
Joanna, whose salons are in Victoria Road, Old Town, and Westcott Place, says she wants the format of the evening to be a surprise.
She said: "There will be about 15 models and the show lasts for about an hour and a half. There will be different themes from various eras. We've been working all year on it. I don't want to reveal anything yet but it's going to be very exciting.
"The models and hairdressers have given up their time for rehearsals in the evenings, and lots of shops have donated clothes."
Tickets will cost £5. For more information telephone 01793 614034 or 01793 644499.
